Pines Recovery Life is the assumed name of Second Chance Detox, LLC, a Florida DCF-licensed and Joint Commission-accredited medical detox and residential treatment facility. This page describes how our text messaging program works, how consent is obtained, and how to stop messages at any time.

What we use text messaging for

We use text messaging only for customer care inside a text conversation the person started. That means replying to questions about admissions and insurance benefit verification, and confirming or rescheduling a phone consultation that was requested in that same text conversation. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. We do not text purchased, rented, or shared lists. We do not text anyone who has not first texted us.

How to opt in

There is one way to opt in to text messages from Pines Recovery Life: you text us first. We do not collect consent for text messaging by any other method, and there is no other path into our text messaging program. That single path is described in full below, including the exact wording we use.

You text us first

When someone texts one of our published business numbers for the first time, we reply with this confirmation message and wait for a YES before any further messages are sent:

After a YES reply, we send:

If we do not receive a YES, no further messages are sent.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies. Messages are sent only within a conversation you started, so the number of messages depends on that conversation. Most people receive fewer than five messages.

Message and data rates may apply. Pines Recovery Life does not charge for text messages.

How to stop messages (STOP)

Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will receive one final confirmation and then no further messages:

Text messaging is not a secure channel. Please do not send insurance cards, dates of birth, photos of documents, or details about your health over text. To share insurance information securely, use our confidential insurance verification form. Your information is protected under HIPAA.

Supported carriers and delivery

Message delivery depends on your mobile carrier and on network conditions at the time a message is sent. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
