Frequently Asked Questions
Which insurance plans does Pines accept?
We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (every state plan), UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Tricare, Humana Military, and the VA Community Care Network. Other carriers may be accepted as out-of-network — submit your insurance details and we will confirm.
How does insurance verification work?
You provide your name, date of birth, insurance carrier, and member ID. Our admissions team contacts your insurer to confirm benefits, deductibles, and coverage levels for medical detox and residential treatment. We typically respond within an hour during business hours.
Will checking my insurance affect my coverage or credit?
No. Insurance verification is a benefits inquiry — it does not change your coverage, increase your premium, or affect your credit. Your insurer is not notified of any treatment decision until you formally enroll.
How long does verification take?
Most verifications complete within an hour during business hours, and within a few hours overnight. We reach out by your preferred contact method (phone, email, or text) with a clear summary of what your plan covers.
What if my insurance does not cover the full cost?
We can discuss out-of-pocket pricing, payment plans, and third-party medical financing. Some patients combine insurance with self-pay. We will never recommend a treatment plan you cannot access.
Is verification confidential under HIPAA?
Yes. Every interaction with our admissions team is HIPAA-protected. Your information is never shared with employers, family, or third parties without your written authorization.
