Laura Bonczek, LCSW
LCSW · Clinical Director Clinical OperationsLaura Bonczek is the Clinical Director at Pines Recovery Life. She leads day-to-day clinical operations, supervises the therapist team, and reviews every patient’s master treatment plan from admission through discharge. Her work focuses on trauma-informed, evidence-based care for adults in detox and residential treatment, including patients with co-occurring mental-health conditions.
Her clinical philosophy is patient-centered and evidence-based: care plans are built around the person in the room, not a template. She holds her team to clear documentation standards, structured supervision, and continuity between detox, residential, and aftercare so nothing slips between handoffs.
Credentials: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), State of Florida. License verifiable through the Florida Department of Health public registry.
Cristina Cavallo, MS
MS · MCAP · ICADC Lead Therapist · Clinical SupervisionCristina Cavallo is the Lead Therapist at Pines Recovery Life. She runs clinical supervision, leads group therapy curriculum development, and carries a working individual caseload. Her clinical focus is substance use disorder and the trauma and co-occurring mental-health conditions that frequently accompany it.
Her clinical approach is evidence-based and trauma-informed. She works from the assumption that group is where most patients first hear themselves spoken aloud, so she structures the program around modalities with strong outcome research — cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing — and trains the team to deliver them with fidelity.
Credentials: Master of Science (MS); Master’s Level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP); Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (ICADC). Verifiable through the Florida DOH and Florida Certification Board.
Gina Bruni
Accountant · Chief Financial Officer Finance & Insurance AdvocacyGina Bruni is an accountant by training and serves as Chief Financial Officer at Pines Recovery Life. She leads financial stewardship across the organization and oversees insurance verification and patient-financial advocacy — making sure families have a clear, confidential picture of coverage before admission.
Her operating philosophy is straightforward: clinical decisions should never be driven by billing pressures. Her team negotiates with carriers, runs benefits verifications confidentially, and gives families a clear picture of what is covered before admission so the conversation about treatment can stay focused on care.
Her work covers payer relationships, benefits verification, and the financial side of admissions across BCBS, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Tricare, Humana Military, and VA CCN.
